The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences Recognizes Two Real Resorts with its Prestigious International Star Diamond Award
THE ROYAL in Cancun & THE ROYAL Playa del Carmen
New York/Cancun, MX -- Mexican hotel chain Real Resorts today announced that its gourmet luxury all-inclusive resorts, THE ROYAL in Cancun and THE ROYAL Playa del Carmen are receiving the prestigious International Star Diamond Award for the second year in a row. The recognition is awarded by The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences to select five star hotels that exceed a selection of criteria for facilities, operations and service. In addition the AAHS is also awarding Real Resorts the Green Diamond recognition for its commitment to ecology and the environment. Real Resorts has been instrumental in working towards ecologically sound programs to protect the natural reef along the coast of Cancun, as well as employing sustainable operating practices at all four properties.
THE ROYAL in Cancun became the first Cancun property to receive the International Star Diamond Award in 2009 and is now the first Cancun property to receive the recognition for two consecutive years. Also receiving the award for a second year is THE ROYAL Playa del Carmen which recently completed an addition including more of its popular Ocean View Suites and high demand Presidential Suites that include private pools and 360 degree views of Playa del Carmen and the ocean. Also included in the new addition is a new restaurant, el Mediterráneo, and a stylish coffee bar, as well as a 25 meter junior-Olympic pool and pool bar.
The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences is renowned worldwide for awarding excellence in the global travel and luxury services sector. Each year the American Academy bestows its coveted International Star Diamond Award exclusively on five star establishments that are deemed to be of pinnacle quality. “The International Star Diamond Award is the most prestigious emblem of achievement, an award many strive for, but few obtain,” said Joseph D.
